Felicia and Cub???
Has anyone heard how the Grizzly sow, Felicia, and her cub are doing since they reunited? Any sightings?

Re: Photographing Elk in the fall
Had a huge bull elk last September posing along and in the Madison. Two big herds with bugling bulls in Hayden a couple years ago. Looks like those dang wolves missed a few.

Re: Food in the backpack
Tom, I am so excited for you in making your first real trip to the park. We have been commenting on the trip reports about some of the issues with rangers, etc, but don't let that take away from the magnificence of the park. Despite the crowds, rangers, bison jams, just-missed wildlife encounters, e...

Re: Yellowstone Trip 6/3 - 6/8
When I read the line from your wife about pikas being mythical creatures, I couldn't help but laugh. My wife said the same thing for years. Finally we saw one two years ago at the Hellroaring Trail parking lot. We have seen several since. Some great pictures. That one of the wolf is a classic. Thank...

Yellvet, thanks for your post and perspective. The closing of the pullouts is mystifying to me. Why stop the public from doing what they are supposed to do to observe wildlife? We were in the park the past few days with friends who came for a visit and observed some stupid behavior especially with b...

Wow, Max. What beautiful photos. Seeing pumas (mountain lions) in the wild is on my bucket list. Maybe I'll have to go on your next excursion to Patagonia.

Re: Felicia's Fate: The Trials of a Grizzly Bear Mom
Thanks for the happy news! We just missed seeing the cub last week as it was wandering near the highway. It still has an uphill battle though, being so small. And Felicia does not seem to be the best mother. When we were watching them in June, Felicia growled and snapped at the cub for no apparent r...

July 10 Felicia and cub
Drove into the Tetons from Dubois on Wednesday, July 10 then up to Yellowstone and out the West entrance. For those following the Felicia and her abandoned cub saga, the cub was still alive and spotted near the Holmes Cave trailhead. We just missed it but it had just crossed the road and gone down t...
