Re: Lake Clark NP

Thanks Jenny. The documentary pops up on PBS every once in a while, and it's hard not to pause and watch it every time.

Lake Clark NP

Prior to my September Yellowstone trip, I made a short excursion to Alaska to check out Lake Clark National Park for the first time. This is a very popular spot with photographers interested in bears, so I was overdue in scouting it as a future tour stop. It wasn't the best weather, and the salmon r...

Re: Sinclair station in Gardiner closed

People were mentioning that the Conoco immediately raised their prices afterward too.

Re: Northern part of park in early Oct

A GGO was seen west of Canyon Junction this week (see Linda's trip reports). There were four seen at Pelican Valley trail last week (the first giant meadow beyond the parking lot), but we never found them when we stopped there a couple times. Sightings there were early in the morning.

http://www.maxwaugh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/day5otter.jpg September 27, 2018 Thursday we were supposed to take a break from the classic sunrise shoots in the Tetons and focus on wildlife, yet we still found ourselves down at Schwabacher Landing first thing in the morning. Mainly because I ha...

Re: Max's Fall 2018 Trip Report, Days 3 & 4 (Sept. 25 & 26)

http://www.maxwaugh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/day3elk.jpg September 25, 2018 Tuesday was a transition day. We packed up and stuffed the SUV for our move to the Tetons. On the way, of course, more Yellowstone! Who’d have thought that the “geyser day” on this tour would end up being by far the m...

The above error message has been popping up for me recently any time I make a post (in red text). I does not matter if I am embedding links or images or not. I have had to re-submit my message to make it finally post. Two tries every time. Also, I'm still logged out any time I return to the site (th...

Re: Northern part of park in early Oct

The last couple years haven't been great for Great grays. I'd say Moose-Wilson in the Tetons has been the most consistent spot, based on the reported sightings I've heard about. In YNP, you'll want to check the areas that have open forest meadows both north and south of Canyon Junction (Cascade Cree...
