Re: Thoughts on a Bison in a Snowstorm

I saw this posted elsewhere before I saw it here. I believe it was on weather.com and I recognized your name. I feel privileged that you still post here and let us enjoy in your success. Congrats and thanks for posting.

Re: What should be done about the roadside bears

I agree, but it is a bit complicated with managing the crowds. I guess if they hired a ranger to patrol the area it would help a lot, but I doubt they would do that. Perhaps volunteers could help.

What should be done about the roadside bears

On October 25 Karen and I were driving over Togwotee Pass on our way to our place in Idaho when we saw the grizzly sow named Felicia and her cub, Pepper, right by the road (see our trip report). While it was a fantastic experience, it also showed the potential for a bad outcome for people and/or the...

We noticed several cars pulled over and we thought maybe Felicia and Pepper, the grizzly sow and cub? We pulled off the road...

Southern Colorado is beautiful. We've only made a couple of quick trips through the region, but what we have seen of the area was stunning. I hope to get a look at your pictures.

Re: Crazy early October

Sorry your trip was not as productive animal-wise as you had hoped but glad you got to see some of the winter beauty as seen in your photos. The weather has been a bit crazy this fall. We are heading back up on Friday for our final visit and to close up our cabin for the winter. Hopefully, the weath...

Re: Felicia and Cub???

Went over the pass on October 2 and didn't see the bears. However, we were hosting a small school group and when they came over on Sunday, October 6, Felicia and Pepper were digging in the snow at the pass. For most of the kids it was their first grizzly bear! They really enjoyed hearing the story a...

Re: Thoughts on third week of Sept for YNP, Bozeman, Big Sky?

It could be fine or it could be a mess. We were just out there and had two days of snow and three days of decent weather. I'd be really careful without 4-wheel drive, especially if you are going off the main road. Have you thought about renting a 4WD vehicle? At this time of year you can usually get...

Re: Late Sept/early Oct. trip

Sounds like you had a fantastic trip. We were out from October 2-9 but not in the park all those days. We had some good looks at grizzlies and a fair look at the wolves. We may have seen the same grizzly near Canyon along the Norris to Canyon road, but we did not see a single moose! So congrats on g...

Re: Felicia and Cub???

I don't trust the Wyoming wildlife officials. I hope this is not a set-up for an excuse to do away with the two bears. I will be driving over the pass in about 10 days. If I see or hear anything, I'll post it. As for 610, it is good to hear she is still with us. I had not heard anything about sighti...
