Memorial Weekend 2018

My last several trips to the Park left me without seeing any bears so I grabbed one of our new campers and went searching again. Was lucky to snag a last minute campsite at Madison and then Colter Bay the next night. Saturday was one of my funnest days ever. We had 399 and her cubs and 793 and her c...

Re: Camping advice

Some spots to camp just north of Gardiner- Carbela's Fishing Access (free on BLM land right next to the Yellowstone River). Jardine Forest Service Campground. Yankee Jim Canyon Forest Service Campground ($7). And closer to Livingston is Mallard's Rest fishing access with camping allowed. Going up th...

Beautiful warm and sunny weekend in the Park. I ran Lamar both days looking for bears but got skunked. Mammoth campground was full so I had to backtrack to Yankee Jim Canyon to park the trailer. It's probably about time to open up the rest of the campground as there were RV's parked overnight in the...

Holy crap! How did you get that last GGO image? Did you have the shutter speed set up especially to get him shaking his head like that or did you have a slow speed for some other reason and just got lucky?
Just got lucky with a slower shutter speed. :D

Had a nice warmer weekend in the Park. Lots of wolves up high on the ridges. Otters in the river just before Lamar but no parking to try and get pictures.. About half a dozen groups of bison hunters on the old Yellowstone Road. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4797/25897559137_fa083e4f21_c.jpg YNP1-93...

Re: Bears....

I was in the Park this weekend and heard of one sighting in Swan Flats and one in Pelican Creek. Both unconfirmed.
