Patagonia 2019 Wildlife & Scenery Photos

I'm plowing through spring images, and have just finished processing photos from my tour in Patagonia in early May. I usually divide Patagonia photos into two galleries. Since I get so many puma photos down there, they usually get their own feature. This first gallery features all the non-feline wil...

Costa Rica 2019 Photos

I'm home for a bit, so it's time to catch up on image processing from the rest of my trips so far this year. I recently published a gallery of images from my March Costa Rica tour. You can check out the full gallery here. A short preview is below. White-nosed coati, a relative of the raccoon http://...

Re: Tanzania 2019 Wildlife & Scenery

Arted, I just saw your response. Sorry... I've been pretty busy wrapping up other tours. When I lead trips to Africa, I work with an overseas partner who handles a lot of the logistics, provides local guiding (when necessary), and other arrangements. But in some places you can organize your own self...

Re: A few weasel shots from this spring

Nice long-tailed weasel. What a great find, and the fact that you had sufficient time with it trumps any complaints about the light and time of day.

http://www.maxwaugh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/grouse3590.jpg June 5, 2019 I’m trying to write this entry a day late, after coming off sixteen (Tuesday), fifteen (Wednesday) and fourteen (Thursday) hour days. With no midday breaks, that has meant very little sleep in between. I took a day off f...

Re: Spring 2019 Trip Report, Days 8 - 10

http://www.maxwaugh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/elk3124.jpg June 2, 2019 Client pick-up day means a scramble to pack the car, clean up the cabin a bit and hit the road in time to get through the park and up to Bozeman in order to run errands before picking up folks at the airport or the hotel. A...

Re: Spring 2019 Trip Report (Updated through June 4)

Beryl has apparently just kicked her two-and-a-half year olds out. Just in the last couple days. Obsidian has the new cubs (was three, now two).

Re: Early May trip

Thanks Dorothy. The eagle/beaver interaction must've been fun to see. Congrats on the badger.

Re: Muskrat and Merlin

The Merlin is an interesting sighting. I don't think I've ever seen one here either, but someone did just see one a few days ago at Bridge Bay while waiting on the owl. Nice finds.
