Re: Spring 2019 Photos

Thank you, everyone. I thought this year's trip--even though it was even shorter than my last couple (already short) spring trips, was pretty productive. It was nice to experience more than a few new things this time.

Spring 2019 Photos

I've finally finished processing the photos from my two week spring trip. This covers the last week in May plus my photo tour in early June. You can see the full gallery of 157 new images in my photo archive. A short preview is below. This grizzly bear greeted me in the Lamar Valley when I first arr...

Re: Photographing Elk in the fall

There are plenty of elk around in the GYE, as Rick said, but the wolves are still here too (only half their 2007 population). The elk population of the northern herd has been fairly steady, around 6000-7000 the last couple years (it actually came in much higher than expected two years ago). Since it...

Patagonia 2019 Puma Photos

I've published my puma photos from May's tour in southern Chile. Once again, we had numerous memorable sightings, highlighted by multiple encounters with four tiny cubs (4-5 weeks old) and their mother. You can check out the full gallery here. A short preview is below. Our first encounter with mom a...

Patagonia 2019 Wildlife & Scenery Photos

I'm plowing through spring images, and have just finished processing photos from my tour in Patagonia in early May. I usually divide Patagonia photos into two galleries. Since I get so many puma photos down there, they usually get their own feature. This first gallery features all the non-feline wil...

Costa Rica 2019 Photos

I'm home for a bit, so it's time to catch up on image processing from the rest of my trips so far this year. I recently published a gallery of images from my March Costa Rica tour. You can check out the full gallery here. A short preview is below. White-nosed coati, a relative of the raccoon http://...

Re: Tanzania 2019 Wildlife & Scenery

Arted, I just saw your response. Sorry... I've been pretty busy wrapping up other tours. When I lead trips to Africa, I work with an overseas partner who handles a lot of the logistics, provides local guiding (when necessary), and other arrangements. But in some places you can organize your own self...

Re: A few weasel shots from this spring

Nice long-tailed weasel. What a great find, and the fact that you had sufficient time with it trumps any complaints about the light and time of day.
