Nature's Best Exhibition: Smithsonian Museum of Natural History

If anyone is heading to Washington, DC, between now and September, I recommend checking out the Natures' Best Photography exhibit on the second floor of the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. I am fortunate to have two images on display as part of the exhibit, which features winning images from ...

Re: January 2018, half-day tour from West Yellowstone?

You may be more likely to get advice in the Insider forum. This forum is dedicated to past trip reports. I have a feeling it's unlikely given the late start. There's limited daylight and the snow coaches are slow, so even just getting to Old Faithful and back with limited stops might take half a day...

Yellowstone 2017 Photos

I made three trips to the park this year (April, May/June and October), and none were particularly fruitful on the photography side of things. At least, compared to past years. So I combined the images from all three trips into a single gallery. You may view the full gallery here. A short preview is...

Re: Cross Fox

Jim, I'd say yours is a coyote. It's back fur is slightly darker than normal, but that could be because it's dirty or wet. Not a fox though.

Re: Cross Fox

You actually found it. I've continued to drive out to Sylvan every trip in hopes of seeing this fox, but haven't had any luck yet. Nice work!

Great Bear Rainforest 2017

My final photo tour of the year took place in British Columbia's Great Bear Rainforest. We started and ended our nine day trip with good weather, with a lot of rain in between. I was joined by a wonderful group of clients as we searched for the spirit bear, grizzly and black bears and other wildlife...

Re: Those crazy kids

The photos do show up for me now. What was the story with the tarp? Someone just abandoned it and nobody bothered picking it up?

Re: Patagonia in May

Nice work, Tim. I enjoyed reliving what was such a fun trip. I had forgotten about all the shoe problems though! Thank goodness I always bring two pairs of outdoor shoes on these trips (and that Nathan has similar-sized feet to Mark). ;)

Re: First Timers

Steve stole my question. Time of year makes a huge difference when it comes to trip planning. Road closures, wildlife activity, etc. change drastically each season and will affect how best to go about it.

Re: Yellowstone Fall 2017 Trip Report

Thanks guys. I've already finished up processing the photos from this year, which is pretty quick for me and shows how little I photographed Yellowstone this year.
