You should be directing any questions to the Control Operator(s),I believe that is Jim Halfpenny K9YNP that has the FCC licence that you will be working under.They can tell you if they use any tone,what power limit there is on that band,and if you need to conclude your transmission with the call sig...

Wonderful shots,I have never even heard of a Merlin but did see the same bird species along the Old Yellowstone Trail last month and I believe that those are the birds I saw flying around and maybe nesting in the cliff behind Canyon Campground in Yankee Jim Canyon.

You are correct, you should only set squelch tones to restrict hearing other traffic or to transmit to a repeater. If you want to transmit,you can,licence free on MURS or FRS: 151.820 MHz to 154.600 MHz @2w 462.5625 to 462.7125 and 462.5500 to 462.7250 @ 2w and 467.5625 to 467.7125 @ 0.5w Transmitti...

Left the park yesterday,weather had been alternating between sunny and about 59 degrees then cloudy and 50 degree till Saturday morning when we woke up to about 2" of snow on the ground and temperatures that only reached 29 for a high and about 15 for the lows,the real problem was the the high winds...

As of today the 23rd Roosevelt,Hitching Post and Pebble are the only bathrooms. open,Slough Creek is not
