San Juan Island Foxes

I enjoyed a short tour locally with a client last week. We went in search of the red foxes of the San Juans Islands, and had great success. Ireland 2018

I took a family trip to Ireland in late April/early May. Though it was more of a casual trip, I did bring one camera body along to capture a few of the cultural, historical and natural sites we visited. It was a fun trip, with some nice weather that allowed us to get out on foot a fair amount. It wa...

Re: Mt Washburn or Avalanche?

Can't answer your question, as I haven't done Avalanche. However, it's important to note that the park service just sent out a notice that Washburn is going to close for the rest of the season (maintenance and repair projects) around the beginning of July. Not sure if this affects your plans.

Thanks guys. Rick, it was nice to meet you fleetingly. Hopefully we don't see that bear coming up in any official park reports any time soon.

Max's Spring 2018 Trip Report, Days 10 & 11 (June 6 & 7)

http://www.maxwaugh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/moose4062.jpg June 6, 2018 Thus far we’ve carried on a pretty good streak of fulfilling my clients’ wildlife goals on this tour. We’ve produced a lot of “firsts” and some thrilling moments already this week. Still, I wasn’t sure of our chances of l...

Re: Max's Spring 2018 Trip Report: Days 8 & 9 (June 4 & 5)

http://www.maxwaugh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/bear3054.jpg June 4, 2018 I came this close to missing both of my alarms Monday morning. Can you blame me? It was 3:30am. I stumbled around, found my clients and our van, and we hit the road bound for Yellowstone Lake. Grizzly bears were on the age...

http://www.maxwaugh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/bear3787.jpg June 1, 2018 My final “free” day before the start of my photo tour activities wasn’t quite as easy going and relaxed as I’d like. I did make it out in the morning, knowing that I’d have to return home to tackle some obligations at midd...

Re: Max's Spring 2018 Trip Report: Prologue to Day 4 (May 25 - 31)

http://www.maxwaugh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/bear0819.jpg May 30, 2018 How would you feel if the alarm went off at 3:45am? Yeah, that’s about right. I was on the road by 4:15, meeting a friend who was coming out of Cooke City, with a goal of reaching Yellowstone Lake to find some grizzly bear...
