Re: Electric Peak and Sportsman Lake - August 14, 2018

Another great adventure, it looks like.
Would have been fun to see elk playing in the snow.

Re: Comments Welcome: Why the lack of Interest or Participation on this website?

I have posted fairly often, but I agree, there's not the activity there used to be.
Some of it is probably that many people are posting more on Facebook.
But I still go through Ynet a couple times a day.

What a cool adventure. Thanks for sharing info/pix on a place I will never be able to see in person.

Thanks, Dorothy. I love the place for the same reason. Every time you go around a corner, you don't know what will unfold in front of you. It's so great.

Re: October 6th and 7th

Thanks for the report. Sounds like a pretty nice couple of days. It seems golden eagles show up occasionally around hitching post -- I'm glad you saw a couple I didn't see one eagle in 4 days in the park in late September.

Re: There and back again, Sept. 26-Oct. 3, Part I

Glad you got so much elk activity. That sounds like more than I saw last week when it was just No. 18 and his cows. He did some bugling, but I never saw another mature bull. And it's neat you saw the mountain goats. I looked there around Golden Gate, as I've seen them there on past trips, but I neve...

Sept. 27, 2018

Just missed a pouncing coyote near Norris, just missed a Great Gray Owl in the open fields about a mile west of Canyon, just west of Cascade Creek. I was going to go out to Lamar, but a little delay first. About 50 bison were coming toward us on the Yellowstone River bridge, stopping all traffic. Ap...

Sept. 26 One of does days

Kind of a strange day. I saw pretty much of nothing, critter-wise, until afternoon, when I kept running into does with their fawns -- just below the Yellowstone Picnic Area, at the entrance to the Tower Ranger station and near the Cascade Creek picnic area. There were about 8 of them near the ranger...
