Thanks, Dorothy. I love the place for the same reason. Every time you go around a corner, you don't know what will unfold in front of you. It's so great.

Re: October 6th and 7th
Thanks for the report. Sounds like a pretty nice couple of days. It seems golden eagles show up occasionally around hitching post -- I'm glad you saw a couple I didn't see one eagle in 4 days in the park in late September.

Re: There and back again, Sept. 26-Oct. 3, Part I
Glad you got so much elk activity. That sounds like more than I saw last week when it was just No. 18 and his cows. He did some bugling, but I never saw another mature bull. And it's neat you saw the mountain goats. I looked there around Golden Gate, as I've seen them there on past trips, but I neve...

Just missed a pouncing coyote near Norris, just missed a Great Gray Owl in the open fields about a mile west of Canyon, just west of Cascade Creek. I was going to go out to Lamar, but a little delay first. About 50 bison were coming toward us on the Yellowstone River bridge, stopping all traffic. Ap...

Sept. 26 One of does days
Kind of a strange day. I saw pretty much of nothing, critter-wise, until afternoon, when I kept running into does with their fawns -- just below the Yellowstone Picnic Area, at the entrance to the Tower Ranger station and near the Cascade Creek picnic area. There were about 8 of them near the ranger...

Re: Sept. 25, 2018
Dorothy, No. 18 did bugle several times while he was hanging around the clinic. But there seemed to be no challengers around because there was no answer. He was very attentive to his ladies.
And thanks for looking/reading.

I thought I had a pretty good day until I looked at the exposures on my pictures. Oh, well. It was still fun. Ran into Max and tour group again, this time at Sheepeater. Got to talk a few minutes. It was fun watching the elk at Mammoth. They were on the lawn at the medical clinic, blocking the doorw...

My first day of a fairly quick trip. I finally got a pouncing coyote, across the road from Rainy Lake. First time I've ever seen that in person, and this one pounced five times. The first two were when I was getting out of the car, then I got three more chances. One's okay, one's blurry because I ju...
