Dorothy, thanks for the post. Sorry to be late in responding but it sounds like you had a great time. Glad you were able to see bears. They have been scarce for us in our few trips into the park this fall. Yellowstone is always spectacular and we were able to see the wolves in Lamar on one occasion....

Re: October Trip, Days 1-2

That's a cool picture of a martin. We have only seen one and it was outside the park near cooke city. Did you use bug spray? The mosquitos would discourage me from trying this trail!

What a great hike! It looks just spectacular. Thanks for posting all the photos. Too bad about the fire but it seems you did all right in spite of it.

Re: Comments Welcome: Why the lack of Interest or Participation on this website?

We have posted some and we check the site fairly often. I would post more but my biggest problem is with posting the pictures. I have tried to upload pictures, but apparently am not tech savvy enough to make it happen. Pugman, I do appreciate your posts and have responded when I think I have somethi...

Yellvet, thanks for your reply and I respect your opinion. However, not sure I agree with certain aspects. I realize it is a very complex issue and there are no simple answers. I don't think that the economic issues should drive policy, but the argument can be made that having a healthy population o...

Re: Thoughts/reflections on Texas parks?

We lived in Texas for 4 years before moving to Colorado 3 years ago. I never made it to Big Bend although I did travel to some of the wildlife refuges further east along the border of Mexico. However, my son went to Big Bend on a school biology trip. There are some neat things to see in terms of des...
