Re: August 17-18

No, seems like July is the most common but I think we've hit June too. Full mid summer is good for us for a variety of reasons, and our trips to Yellowstone, half a dozen or more, are but one leg of vacation.

Re: Wandering Wapitis Head North Nov. 6

Wow. Impressive. We've only maybe seen a wolf once, but it might have been a coyote. I admit, we're not out early, nor do we spend a lot of time just watching like some here, but I'd sure like to catch a scene like you did.

August 17-18

Worst trip to the big park ever. Originally I had reservations for 5 days in a cabin at Old Faithful. But as time and closures wore on, I canceled as I didn't want to go all the way out to W Yellowstone to eat as all the restaurants were closed. Still booked a couple of nights at the Lazy G, in W Ye...

Re: Grizzly Kills Elk in Yellowstone river

It's great and terrible. I understand predator and prey, and it's not like I'm a vegetarian, but I can't say I enjoy seeing it either. Although I admit I did click on it. Reminds me of when I was giving a mosquito abatement guy a tour of an old abandoned hospital I was responsible for. Saw a pigeon ...

Re: Wolf at Sunrise Friday, August 21

Awesome! Love the shot with the sun! That is a good shot. No, a great one. But for me, not worth getting up at 3AM for... That...seems a little rude to post in the thread of someone else's trip report with someone else's photos they were kind enough to share. The comma I missed and just inserted ab...

Re: Is the Upper Grand Loop a must do?

While the OP has presumably already done his trip, and hopefully had a great time, to me the answer to the question is what do you want to see? Wildlife? Lamar and Hayden valleys. Maybe Madison River area. Geothermal, upper and lower geyser basins. Alpine beauty? Jeez, I've been there half a dozen t...

Re: Park Still Seeing Heavy Traffic

Interesting that it was a busy season, or at the least not slow. Out of the norm, but I hadn't finalized vacation plans when the s*** hit the fan in March. Yellowstone was a possibility, but really probably not. But travel, while not really even semi-prohibited like it was for a while, seems unwise,...

Re: March Trip to Southern Utah

Nice shots. I'm a little disappointed as I've crisscrossed that area quite a bit and you're showing me places I haven't seen. Or perhaps that's good too, I still have more to look for. But the area, "Southern Utah" or Utah's National Parks as I think of them, is stunning. Yellowstone, the granddaddy...

I can now, but couldn't log on

This is just a FYI to the kind people who put in time on this board. I tried loging on today and couldn't. I'm 99+% I had the password right along with the username. I eventually went for a password reset, used the last one I knew and it worked. I'm back on, all is well. But a FYI as others might be...
