Re: How about a BEAR FRIDAY again?

Let's take a walk down memory lane. Here are a few shots of my most favorite Yellowstone bears. The "ORIGINAL" Rosie. Re: Post your favorite Duck photo, from anywhere....

I've always been intrigued by the male ruddy ducks. When a male is in courting mode, it gets all gussied up and then puts on quite a display for the ladies, hoping to impress one or more female by its unbelievable dexterity as it arches and extends its neck backwards, right over its back....just lik...

Re: Spring trip booked

Rod, it's so good to see your smiling face again. Depending on the weather here and in the Park, hopefully, I'll get to see you and Rik at the same time. Wow....a Yellowstone Rendezvous of Park photographers...can't wait!!! :) Update: Had to cancel my May Park trip. We've got an active flood warning...

Re: It's Tuesday...post your badgers!

Usually I'll see badgers in the Park from early June to mid-July. After a mother has newborns, she often moves them to new a den, almost on a daily basis, to protect them. The thing that I find so interesting is that the youngsters take part in the digging of the new den holes. I've got a number of ...

Re: BC Birds

Max, I just saw a northern harrier fly over our house this morning. Kind of unusual to see them this early. Went for a walk along the river yesterday and saw lots of geese, ducks, a couple of bald eagles, a golden eagle and a mated sandhill crane couple that comes back every year to nest So it looks...

Sounds good, Rik. Hopefully, the local weather and road conditions will cooperate so I can make the trip.

Re: Mid June/Early July Park Trip in the Works

Thanks, Rik. If the weather is half-way decent and the roads are dry, I'll try to make a short trip to the Park while you're there. Can't give you any exact dates, though. I usually have to watch the weather and road conditions before I can go anywhere. However, I'd really like to meet the photograp...

Re: It's Tuesday...post your badgers!

Found the badger hole in a draw behind the SC campground, Rik, several years ago. I hid behind a tree so I could get some pix without disturbing the family. The baby had been repeatedly, poking its head in and out of the hole . It probably was curious wondering who that big, overgrown Uinta was, who...

Mid June/Early July Park Trip in the Works

Thought I'd let members know that I'll be in the Park from the latter part June until the 15th of July. This marks my 40th year camping at Slough Creek. So if you're into wildflowers and wildlife, I hope you'll stop by and say hi. I'd be happy to help you identify some of the spectacular wildflowers...
