That grizz is 399's son from her 2011 litter BTW. Trapped and relocated after he predated cattle near the Wind River range and taken to the Shoshone Forest. Made his way into Yellowstone and to the Hayden Valley.

Damn damnety damn. I had been planning on being in the park right now, but my wife's work wouldn't give her the last two weeks of September off so we went the first two. I KNEW I wanted to be there now.

I envy you the bears. We spent 2 and a half days in the Tetons and now we're on our second day in Yellowstone and have yet to see a single bear.

Great sightings! I will be there in less than a month and I hope the wolves stay active. Unless they move totally out of the area, you should have an excellent chance, especially with the Junction Buttes in Lamar. The Wapitis are less reliable now, with only a few brief sightings lately. Apparently...

Sorry you didn't see any grizz. Did you check Two Ocean Lake? Just a good bonus when you catch them, rangers had no sightings on Saturday. Was very hot and if I was a bear I would have stayed in a cool shady area. Have not been to Two Ocean Lake but will put it on the list. I was yearning for a kay...
