I was wondering if trying the Beaver Ponds trail from Mammoth is worthwhile at this time of year -- or even accessible yet? We've never tried them, and wondered if they're good for seeing wildlife (obviously, would need to carry bear spray?). Do you have a shot at seeing beavers at the ponds?

Just a bit later I'll bump the thread while wondering what the likelihood of seeing them in July might be.
