Hiking NW Gallatin trails are some of my favorites, Black Butte, Fawn Pass, Specimen Crk etc. I will be in third week May.
I passed by when Bacon Rind was still smoldering. I suspect lot wildlife driven out of Lee Metcalf and perhaps relocate across 191 into areas as fire did not cross hwy 191. For this season , any news or thoughts for wildlife now in or return to area? Info would help with my back country planning.

On upside, I suspect new ground growth post fire could be good food source for ungulates.
Appreciate any report . I will have my old orange YNet mag on car, hope to meet fellow posters. Thanks.
