Rick, nice work. The coyote/goose chase is great. It's always special to see interspecies interactions in the park.

Don't be too upset about missing otters up there. I did see them at Trout/Buck Lakes on May 29th this year, but that was my first sighting there in a few years. The last couple years they have not been nearly as reliable at Trout Lake as they used to be (only a few scattered sightings last year as well). May has always been a bit early for them anyway, so even if there is a mother that will settle in and raise a family there in summer, spring doesn't produce many sightings.

I believe otters to be mythical creatures.
Eight trips to the park in the last ten years;many hikes up the hill to Trout Lake, among others; 0 sightings!!

Thanks Max. Trout Lake is such a nice short hike and you just never know what you're going to see. I'll probably include it every trip Otters or not! I need to get back again later in the season.
The only Otters I've seen are at our local zoo. Fun to watch even there tho!
